Preceding its annual conference to be held Wednesday and Thursday this week in Delhi, India, the FTTH Council Asia-Pacific has released an appealing video about the Fiber-To-The-Home technology. Although it focuses IMHO a bit too much on the "Consumer" aspects, such as HD/3D-TV, and not enough on the "UGC" side, I love it.

Simply because it summarizes extremely well the true benefits of FTTH : non-TriplePlay services and usages. Efficient, Entertainment, Eco-Friendly : those are the arguments highlighted by the FTTH CAP to promote the concept.

Three "E", that makes an easy baseline for all of us Fiber Evangelists : "FTTH : Triple-E Services at Your Home".

See here. The Flip is a brand new camcorder made by Pure Digital Technologies "for the rest of us".
Simple, easy to use, and just enough features for 80% of the population. On top, the Flip is pretty much affordable for most of us (at Agilent, I've learned not to say "cheap" ;-).
Definitely a gadget that could have been designed by Apple. Which, I suppose, has served as a model for the definition and creation of The Flip.

Gore's Global Warming Doc Wins Oscar

"An Inconvenient Truth", the documentary from used-to-be-the-next-president-of-the-United States of America Al Gore and  director Davis Guggenheim on global warming has won an Oscar last night in Los Angeles, CA.
In my humble opinion, the Academy' award is another strong sign that the combat against global warming is going mainstream in the US. An excellent news, that is a tremendous step forward to a complete overhaul of our way of life.
As I wrote some weeks ago : for the first time in the History of Humanity, we of the Western World (aka " Occident ") can reshape  Mother Earth for the sake of our children' children. And still make money out of it. Going Green (Tech) means make Green (Money - US dollars, get it ?)

post-scriptum : the original article by Associated Press claims"An Inconvenient Truth" to be a power-point presentation. Well, the author doesn't probably subscribe to "PresentationZen", otherwise she would have known that it was designed and created using Apple' Keynote presentation app !
Nevertheless, I understand the confusion : "An Inconvenient Truth" was not filmed at a conference' keynote speech ;-)

An Inconvenient Truth

My Wife and I went to the Gaumont Multiplex " Parc Millesime " in Reims to see " An Inconvenient Truth ", the movie that was a wake-up call for America and Global Warming skeptics all around the Planet. I cannot say more than what have been already said and written about Al Gore's traveling global warming show. The former Vice-President is really * a man with guts *, unlike too many people today. His presentation is a must for everyone above 14.
